SummerQuest 11

An ongoing quest in any bibliophile's life is to read through that list of "to read" books. For today's quest, go through your list and pick out a book somebody recommended to you to read. Don't have any recommendations? Any book recommended on the Ravenous Readers blog will do, or find the "Get Personalized Good Reads" link on the library catalog to get a personalized recommendation from a librarian. Your challenge, regardless of whether or not you like the book, is to recommend it to two people whom you think would like it. Tell us the book and whom you recommend it to in the comments.

  1. When I went looking for a banned book to read, and a book by a locale author I went to the library and the librarian (Lisa). She recommended A Handmaid's Tale (for the banned book) and Bones of Faerie by Janni Lee Simner. I don't know who I would recommend them to though. A Handmaid's Tale was pretty sad but the other was really good for someone that likes fantasy books, I'll be reading the 2nd book soon. Faerie Winter!

  2. Shell,
It's always a real challenge trying to match up the right book with the right person. Glad you enjoyed the Faerie book enough to get the sequel!

A good book for you to read is Against All Enemies, by Tom Clancy. This book goes from the border town of Nogales, Arizona to the poppy fields in Afghanistan. This book is about the drug cartels the Taliban and the United States Government.

    1. Thanks for sharing! Do you know anyone who would like Tom Clancy? My dad would probably love it, if he hasn't read it already...

    1. Good choice! The Guinness Book of World Records is one of our most popular books for all ages, so it's fitting that that unlocked another image!
